Kodiak Networks Joins GSM Association as the First Vendor to Commercially Deploy Advanced Push-to-Talk (PTT) Systems throughout the World
Kodiak Networks, the leading provider of advanced wireless systems, has announced that is has been ratified as the newest Associate Member of the GSM Association (GSMA). The GSMA is a global trade association for the world’s GSM mobile operator community, whose members serve more than 1.1 billion people across 209 countries and territories.
Kodiak recently announced the commercial availability of Orange’s TalkNow GSM service in Europe. Orange TalkNow service is powered by the standards-based, Kodiak Real-Time Exchange (RTX) System and allows end customers to enjoy premium wireless voice services in addition to PTT, including instant availability, quick conferencing and real-time contact and group management via the handset.
Kodiak Networks is the first member of the GSMA to commercially deploy advanced PTT systems around the world. Commercial deployments of the Kodiak RTX span several continents and include Asia/Pacific wireless operator IT&E Overseas, located in Guam; multi-national European operator Orange S.A., and U.S.-based carriers, ALLTEL and Cellcom.
